Torrevieja is a coastal town in the south of the Alicante Province. It is in Region Vega Baja und has a population of about 100,000 inhabitants. Torrevieja is located between the city limits to Guardamar del Segura to the north, Rojales and Benijofar to the west, Montesinos and San Miguel de Salinas to the southwest, and the beaches of Orihuela to the south.
The city of Torrevieja is 41 km north away from Alicante, 23 km northwest from Elche, and 53 km southeast from Murcia. Torrevieja has a protected natural park with two saltlakes and 20 km of coastline, as well as six big beaches: La Mata, Cabo Cervera, Los Locos, El Cura, Los Náufragos and Ferris. It also has about 20 bays with many cliffs. It has a Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and summers, and without any sudden temperature change.
