A great event was that the ZDF “dreamboat” was visiting Torrevieja. It put on 22.9.2015 at 16 o’clock in front of the port of Torrevieja the cruise ship MS Amadea for the first time dropped anchor here.
The MS Amadea is the new dream ship for the same TV show on ZDF and thus the successor of MS Germany. Earlier this year, it was clear after the MS Germany, with about 60 million went into bankruptcy that the MS Amadea is the new dreamboat. Since February 2015, on this cruise ship the new episodes for winter 2015 and beginning of 2016, the television series filmed “The Love Boat”. Sascha Hehn is the new captain in the series, while Hubert Flohr is the real master of the imposing vessel.
The MS Amadea is 30 years old and was built with a budget of EUR 110 million in Japan. This cruise ship is about 193 meters long, 27 meters wide and has a draft of about 7 meters. Consumption is per day on average at about 40 tons of fuel; with the waves and wind this can increase to 70 tons. The speed limit is 39 km / h.
7 bars, 2 restaurants, a library, an Internet cafe, a cinema, a hospital, a gym, sauna, mini golf and a smoking room are located on the ship.
It can carry 600 passengers, which are 150 more than Germany found space on the MS. There are also about 300 crew members, so there is a very good service.
Since the MS Amadea is however a bit dated, some areas were rebuilt and modernized for the filming of “The Love Boat”.
On September 10 put the MS Amadea into Bremerhafen and came to a few other stations on 22/09 in the city of Salt, Torrevieja. From 16 hours were about 400 passengers in boats, brought each about 40 persons ashore. The City Council has the German guests a warm welcome, there were maps distributed and a free shuttle service brought the passengers to the city center of Torrevieja. There, the German passengers had then, extensively exploring to about 22 clock time the city to meet Torrevieja to enjoy shopping or the fantastic weather with a walk on the beach promenade. At about 23:00 put the MS Amadea again and continued their trip to Mallorca fort.
The bustle and hype was of course enormous. Some people from the political and media representatives were allowed on the ship and the captain could ask questions. Torrevieja.de was also on site. Hubert Flort loves his job and is proud of being the captain of the dream ship and he had so much press representatives have never arriving in a port. The captain has never heard about the town of Torrevieja, but this great event was certainly a great advertisement for the city and helps to make this beautiful port city yet known.
