Eras de la Sal – former Salt Depot


An example of the industrial architecture of Spain from the eighteenth century and now a historic monument in the port of Torrevieja is the Eras de la Sal, which is a former salt depot, where the salt workers formerly loaded on its barges the salt to transport it from there to the ships created at the quay. The work took place in the period from 1777 to 1958 here. Eras de la Sal was renovated in 1997, the reconstruction of the existing wooden structure stood by m center. Today it is an important symbol of Torrevieja and recalls its history and the hard work of many generations.
