Torrevieja is a multicultural city in southeastern Spain on the beautiful Costa Blanca. Those who take here a vacation, does not want to back away and come back in any chance they get. Between two lagoons and facing the warm Mediterranean lies the port of Torrevieja. The two beautiful lagoons of Torrevieja and La Mata were declared in 1994 a nature reserve. It has become a refuge for many bird species. The Nature Park covers an area of 3,700 hectares and is a wetland with crucial importance for the development of the life cycles of many different species. Through a natural course of time these salt lakes were once separate. Thanks to its salt production Torrevieja has become internationally known, also it is one of the most important productions in Europe. The work in the salt pans can be easily traced in the saline at Santa Pola from the street. These two large salt lagoons are the symbol of the destination. Along with the sea air make the salt that Torrevieja is one of the climatically healthiest parts of Europe. This healthy climate attracts many people here who suffer from rheumatism, asthma and heart disease, as well as skin diseases. After a short time, provides a relief of the disease in those affected. One speaks therefore in this region by a healthy climate.
Torrevieja has a lot to offer for young and old. The beautiful large harbor directly in front of the city is an attraction for water sports enthusiasts, boaters and fishermen who have there their boats. The long and beautiful developed beach promenade of Torrevieja invites you to stroll; here are close to densely small wooden stalls offering of electrical goods to clothing to jewelry to everything. It is worthwhile to browse here. A little further along the promenade, opposite the city beach there are a wide variety of bars, restaurants and iced coffees. Whether a tostada for breakfast, an ice cream in the afternoon or tapas for dinner, everyone gets its taste and has in addition a fantastic view. The view over the promenade on the sea in the sunset with a glass of red wine makes every moment into something special.
For those who want nightlife, Torrevieja also has a lot to offer. From many small bars and restaurants in the downtown area, to cute little clubs where Spanish music is played and danced, but the offer is very diverse. Some large discotheques which are always well attended, located in Torrevieja’s industrial area and round off the evening or night program. Here in Spain it is possible to dance in the discotheques, however just to three o’clock at night and then up in the morning, usually around eight o’clock, you can celebrate wildly and dance. On the next day, you can relax from the dance floor and sleep on the beach.
